Exploring!
This has been the driest summer the rain forest has experienced in recorded history. You can see the moss drying out and turning brown.
Playing on some really cool roots!
Good looking couple!
This fallen tree is longer than a football field
Very big trees
Look closely. It's an Owl.
We arrived at the Rain Forest Village after hours, but not to worry - our keys were hanging safely on the outside of the door.

Tricky!
Largest Spruce in the world!

We didn't stay here, but it was a nice place to visit.

Small trees are growing out of this large fallen tree.
This tree was massive. And you could walk right inside and look up!
View from inside the world's largest Red Cedar Tree
Astoria, OR
Playing on the hill at the Astoria Column, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge and the 4 mile bridge from Washington to Oregon.
The Cathedral Tree Trail started at the top of the hill and ended at the bottom.
These three were teenage mutant ninja turtles on a mission all the way to the bottom of the 1.5 mile trail.
Cathedral Tree
The enemy was hiding toward the end of the trail. They jumped out and gave our ninja turtles quite a scare.
The Astoria Crest Motel had a great view!
Excellent place for dinner.
This tipped over on Logan and gave him quite the goose egg on his forehead.
The ice cream was stronger than the spoon
Bryce and I got up early and ran a 5K along the Astoria River Trail. It was awesome!
Selfie
Our $1 trolley ride was worth every penny.
We learned all about Lewis and Clark at Fort Clatsop
This guy was an amazing historian and a great actor. He showed us how to fire an old flint and still muzzle loader.

Florence, OR
The Shakespears drive all the way from Eugene to have dinner with us in Florence. It was so fun to catch up, and to see how much their kids have grown.
Old Town, Florence
Packing up for the big drive home
One last stop by the beach on our way out of town. It was very foggy.
The Florence Sand Dunes were fun.
Eugene on the way home
Ran a lap with Camryn
We also ran a couple miles on Pre's Trail. We found that although the trail was very soft, we got very dirty, and pokey slivers irritated our feet and ankles. It was a fun experience none-the-less.
I love these two girls!
Scenic Route Home Along the Old McKenzie River Road and Over McKenzie Pass
Camryn had sat down on Pre's Trail to get stickers out of her shoes. While sitting, she acquired stickers in her pant. She thought pouring baby powder down her pants might help. I think she used a little too much.
We hiked to the observatory overlooking a volcano
